Social innovation refers to new strategies, concept, ideas and organisations that meet social needs of all kinds - from working conditions and education to community development and health 0 and that extend and strenghthen society. In the case of s.p.a.c.e we are addressing the concept of inclusive communities and how they can be activated in our neighbourhoods. s.p.a.c.e first project is a community centre in the western suburbs, Kenmore. At s.p.a.c.e Kenmore the sevices are for, but not limited to, members of the community with a disability. We believe that by creating generic services for use by the whole community we are able to ignite inclusive community practices and increase quality of life for those members of the community who live with or alongside disability.
