The Community Centre Reference Group is an advisory group who will provide recommendations into the development of the s.p.a.c.e Community Centre. This group will work with Chairperson James Dale and s.p.a.c.e Executive Director Alissa Phillips and Director Nicole Border. The purpose of the s.p.a.c.e Community Centre Reference Group is to: •Have a ‘community voice’ to assist the s.p.a.c.e in making progressive and inclusive decision regarding the use of the s.p.a.c.e centre. •Increase active participation of community members. •Ensure a cross section of the community is represented so as to ensure a variety of activities and opportunities are catered to. The Reference Group members are volunteers, representing groups or organisations that will use the Centre or have a particular interest in the Centre because they live in the immediate area. s.p.a.c.e will invite specific individuals to ensure a diverse and fair representation of these groups. The Community Centre Reference Group Terms of Reference: •Collectively develop a vision to ensure inclusive use, and access of the Centre and advise the s.p.a.c.e Board on ways in which the community centre could be developed to improve the value of the Centre as a community resource. •Provide advice on design and layout options for the Centre. •Assist the s.p.a.c.e Board to develop a proposal for an effective and efficient management model of the Centre, which will maximise community access and utilisation. •Raise the profile of the s.p.a.c.e Community Centre
